Why do we do a BluePrint Sprint for software projects working with remote teams?

The Blueprint Sprint provides is the framework which brings Client and Dev team Alignment to the forefront. This tool was created because having projects with the best developers, the coolest technology, and greatest company does not guarantee success. Projects fail because the whole is less than the sum of its parts.

The Blueprint sprint was born out of necessity, not by being clever. It was shocking the difference when first testing out the approach. It was done simply to ensure we could deliver on our commitment to quality, but truthfully it sped things up, projects expanded, clients got more money for the projects, and our dev teams became partners. For us there is no other way.

Truly it was more good preparation and planning, but then magic happened. The alignment it created led to projects continuing, growing, developers being happier, and teams becoming more engaged.  So we dove deeper and created a whole process around it, and the rare opportunity where everybody wins.

Why is it so important?

Clearly understanding the purpose of the project.

The sole purpose of this 'pre sprint' to the dev project is to break down the high level goal and value proposition of the project, and apply it to every part of the project.  Knowing the 'why' behind the features, code, and planning fosters amazing efficiencies and problem solving.  Everything improves; Planning the initial MVP, epics, sprints, empowering tech leads, giving context to tasks and for Developers to feel engaged.

Clearly knowing the reason a project is valuable.

Alignment isn't just being on the same page, right now, but also marching in unison towards the same goal. When a dev team can see that they are solving a real problem, they get absolutely inspired.  Innovation occurs without being asked, and real magic begins.

Building trust

Trust takes time and in the early stages, any mistake is amplified.  By quickly getting everybody on the same page, no valuable time is wasted and everyone is freed up for interactions which deepen relationships and leads to true product ownership.

Why is it so valuable?

Proper planning is never a bad idea and Digital Canvas takes it to the next level, dynamically.  As we analyze your project, we take a deep look into the culture of your company, building a contextual training manual for your market, and through our vast network of dev houses, match you to the best available engineering teams.  Using criteria from similar projects, common tools, preferred technologies, similar industries, and ideal client profiles, you get a road map that ensures your project success as well as a team that is fully vetted, loves what you are doing, and will make your company successful.

We have three phases of the BluePrint Sprint to set up your Company, Project Managers & potential dev teams for success

Phase I.  Lead Analysis & Nurturing Strategy.

Not all projects and companies are ready for remote teams. We do a quick audit to see if remote teams will be the right fit. If we see some red flags, we have a roadmap to ensure it will be a success. Here are a few things we look at.

Phase II.  Product Market Fit Analysis

Although delivering high-level analysis, we take a deeper dive.  Project Managers must be ambassadors not just in getting the project delivered in a timely manner, but also knowing the "why" behind it all, and the entire ecosystem of a market. Our analysis gives context to the MVP, shows where to deploy resources, and how to architect code to ensure that the right clients are being targeted. Also we use this to align the dev teams with the Business teams to ensure alignment with the long term company goals.

Phase III.  Tech and UX Audit and Prep (In progress)

When we think and speak "tech", we don’t have a specific solution in mind. For each venture we search for an individual solution irrespective of biases or trends. We strive for long-lasting scalable solutions that work, regardless of the platform. Our Tech and UX audit blueprint analyzes a project through the lens of modern best practices and assesses its alignment with industry trends and is vitally important.  To us design can only exist in combination with goals, technology and content, refined through user experience's attention.
